Brunello Cucinelli
Brunello Cucinelli became the fashion world’s best known designer through his magnificent creations of cashmere.
The designer grew up in an average-income family. As a result, he developed his own unique, hand-made style from childhood. When Brunello founded his own business at the age of 25, with 300 employees and $250 he did not expect rapid financial success. Nevertheless, after 2 years he was able to hire a co-founder of the future company.
His first shops were opened in Germany and in the USA; countries where the economy was very stable at that time. In 1985, the designer bought an ancient castle in Solomeo, the home town of his muse and wife Federica. Immediately he started restoration of the building and moved the offices of his company there.
Being strongly convinced in the unique ability of Italian masters to apply design know-how based on a centuries-old culture of tailoring to manual ways of dressing,
Brunello invited local manufacturers to produce his creations. The consumer can be sure of the 100% Italian origin of Cucinelli products. The inspiration comes from the streets. Walking on the streets of the Italian suburbs the designer scrupulously studies people, their style and manner of dress, and then interprets it in the new magnificent silhouettes.
Brunello Cucinelli men's line deserves a special attention. The designer managed to refresh an elegant classic by adding a casual sport style. He mixed handcrafted elements with the skillful work of masters, using magnificent fabrics which are usually used for the tailoring of a men's classic suit. The marvelous, athletic lines perfectly match the silhouettes of English suits and tuxedos.
In 2004, according the authoritative magazine Robb Reports, Brunello Cucinelli is one of the top designers of men's sportswear. Robb Report magazine characterized Cucinelli, as "the Italian designer who mixed a silhouette of a classical men's suit with impudent casual style."Supporting fusion style in fashion, Cucinelli adds sophistication to a casual-image and softness to the official suit of the respectable businessman.
Profitability is the essential component of any business, but according Cucinelluat it is not the unconditional priority. The fashion motto of the company is "Supreme Good," meaning the union of enthusiastic people who take responsibility for each segment of production and contribute to the result.
In 2009, the Olivetti Historical Archive Association awarded a prizes for social responsibility and harmony. Brunello Cucinelli received an honorable title “Olivetti Entrepreneur of 2009” for the creation and development of the Italian industrial group which is extremely popular in the international market, and which, at the same time, cares about human rights, the environment, and the protection of artistic monuments.
